After Military Engineering, Civil Engineering is the second oldest branch of Engineering. It is also a core branch. Civil Engineering is a 4 years long Undergraduate level Degree program.

The 4 years’ degree is divided into 8 semesters, and each semester has a period of 6 months. During each semester, students will have to deal with sets of theoretical subjects as well as practical lab study.

Civil engineering can take place in the public sector from municipal public work departments through to federal government agencies, and in the private sector or public sector undertaking from locally based firms to global companies.

They can be found in the construction industry, designing, and space stations; in the automotive industry, perfecting the load-carrying capacity of a bridge and improving existing structures; and they can also be found in the industry like the construction industry, water resource management, shipbuilding industry, and many other industries wherever constructed facilities are involved.

Civil engineering is a very good profession because at the end of the day you can see the results of your work, whether this is a completed bridge or culvert, a multi-storeyed building, a subway station, or a hydroelectric dam.
